    Karen Louise Sherwood “Sissy” of Ypsilanti passed away unexpectedly in Belleville, June 16, 2017, at the age of 60. Karen was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother (Memaw), aunt, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Sherwood; her younger sister, Lori Stegall (Sherwood); and younger brother, Mark Sherwood. ...

    She will be deeply missed by her father, George Sherwood; her significant other, James Holley; daughters, Tracy (Marvin) Peterson, Misty (Mick) Russell, & Rebecca Singleton; step-sons, Adam & Ronnie Holley; grandchildren, Alexandria, Saphira, and Mick; her siblings Mike Sherwood, Brenda (Monte) Shaddon, & Georgia (Robert Decker) Sherwood along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, in-laws, friends & neighbors.

    When she was good, she was great! She loved to cook & have family gatherings. She had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping others any way she could.

    Visitation will be held at C&H Community Home for Funerals, Lucille’s Memorial Chapel, 411 S. Adams Street in Ypsilanti Thursday, June 22 from 4p-7p and a memorial service held on Friday, June 23 at noon officiated by Pastor Chris Jarrett; cremation will follow.     My prayers and thoughts are with the family. Karen and I were good friends and I'm so saddened by her leaving us. She'll be watching us from heaven. May she rest in peace.

    OMG Sissy, we just talked at the hospital when we ran into each other there. You will be missed. You were a great friend and always had good things to say about everyone. RIP, my friend.
